We have grown crystals of NaCl from droplets of corresponding water solution. Several small crystals stick to each other and form anisotropic body about 20 microns in size. Anisotropy of the levitated salt body permits its rotation by application of an AC electric field (10000 V/m) between steel substrate and/or the two permanent magnets. Levitated droplet is kicked by the current pulses through electrodes, which force it to moves between them. Video in .avi format shows this process in more details (size 53MB).
